Come support the Calabasas High School Music Program at our 4th Annual Run/Walk! Run or walk a 5k or 10k, and kids 11 and under can enjoy a 1k event. Lots of live music along the course and at the start/finish line. This is a professionally chip-timed race with finisher medals for all, $$$CASH$$$ awards for overall winners and prizes for age division winners. Dogs and strollers welcome! Free parking.

4TH ANNUAL CHS MUSIC RUN/WALK - SUNDAY OCTOBER 25, 2015 - F.A.Q.
WHAT IS THE COURSE LIKE?
The course is fairly flat. Check out the map on this site.
IS THE STREET COURSE SAFE?
Yes, the run/walk lane is coned off and is monitored by LA County Sheriffs and volunteer course monitors.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
There is free parking, while spaces are available, in the CHS parking lotss accessible from Mulholland Highway and Old Topanga Road. Parking lots will close at approximately 7:45am and will reopen at approximately 10:00am. If you park on the street, please observe all parking signs.
IS THIS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT?
Yes. We anticipate cooler temperatures than we experienced in 2014 as the event is later in the year.
ARE THERE WATER STOPS?
Yes, there are two for the 5K, 4 for the 10K.
ARE THERE RESTROOMS ON THE COURSE?
Restrooms can be found on the football field.
WHAT DO I GET FOR MY ENTRY FEE?
The first 200 registered participants will receive a commemorative event T-shirt (sizes as requested, while supplies last), a tax-deductible donation to the CHS Music Boosters, and a guaranteed entry to your chosen event (5K, 10K, 1K). All finishers will receive a custom Finisher Medal.
WILL THERE BE FOOD AND DRINK?
Yes, there will be bottled water at the finish line, and refreshments and food for everyone on the football field.
CAN I WALK THE 5K? 10K? 1K?
Yes, all distances can be walked, run, or a combination of both. There is no time limit for any distance.
HOW WILL I KNOW HOW FAR I’VE GONE?
There will be markers at every mile.
WHAT KIND OF SURFACES WILL THE RACE BE ON?
There is running track surface, concrete/sidewalk, and blacktop.
IS THERE FIRST AID AVAILABLE?
Yes. Course Monitors are in contact with medical personnel who are on site at the race.
ARE PETS OR STROLLERS ALLOWED?
Yes, this is a family event! However, please keep them under control, and please pick up after your dog. We suggest participants with strollers and/or dogs start at the back of the pack. This will not affect your time on the course, as your timing chip is activated as you cross the start line.
CAN I USE MY IPOD/MUSIC DEVICE ON THE COURSE?
Use of anything that reduces your awareness of your surroundings is not recommended, but not prohibited. Use caution and keep the volume low so you can be aware of your surroundings, other participants, and possible emergency announcements.
HOW DOES CHIP TIMING WORK?
There will be an electronic tracking device “chip” affixed to your bib. The chip will automatically activate when you cross the Start Line.
IS THE 1K CHIP-TIMED?
No. The winner of the 1K will be the first participant to cross the finish line.
WHERE CAN I FIND MY RESULTS?
Results will be posted on the field within minutes of you crossing the finish line. Results can also be found on www.chsmusic.com by Monday October 26.
WILL THERE BE MEDALS?
Yes. Every finisher will receive a 2015 Finisher Medal when they cross the finish line.
WILL THERE BE PRIZES?
Yes. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female finishers of the 5K, 10K and 1K. There will also be awards for 1st place finishers in the following age divisions:
14 and under
15-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60 and over
WHEN CAN I COLLECT MY AWARD?
The awards ceremony will be on the stage on the football field , starting at 9:45am.

I CAN’T RUN/WALK. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO TO BE INVOLVED?
Yes! You can pledge a participant, be a sponsor, or volunteer at the event. Simply go to www.chsmusic.com and click the link to see the options.
WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO PRE-REGISTER?
The last day to pre-register is Saturday, October 24th at 5:00pm PDT. (Subject to change).
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The 5K and 10K registration fee is $25 until October 15; $35 from October 16 to October 24, and $50 on the day of the event.
The 1K is $10 until October 24, and $20 on the day of the event.
CAN I SIGN UP ON THE DAY?
Yes, on-site registration is available starting at 7:00am. You can use cash, check or credit card.
ARE THERE AGE LIMITS?
The 5K and 10K are open to all ages. The 1K is 11 and under.
ARE REFUNDS ALLOWED?
Registrations, donations and pledges are non-refundable.
CAN I SWITCH FROM THE 5K TO THE 10K, OR 10K TO THE 5K OR TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER PERSON?
Yes, please contact us or let the pre-registration volunteers know on the morning of the race.
