As many of you know, I've been working at JPA just over 10 years and am passionate about the amazing services JPA provides to over 3,000 children, families, educators & administrators each year. The vital mental health programs help children in under-resourced communities who are experiencing considerable trauma and toxic stress due in large part to the prevalence of violence and poverty in their neighborhoods. In fact, 90% of the children JPA serves have experienced at least one, often times more, significant trauma (i.e. exposure to adult criminal behavior, parental substance abuse, domestic violence, neglect, etc.). Given the current climate, the need for JPA’s vital mental health services is at an all-time high! Your support helps JPA therapists continue to connect with children & families in some of Chicago's most at-risk neighborhoods, even when these challenging times keep them physically apart.
